Delicious Ribs in the Slow Cooker

Spare ribs in BBQ sauce recipe
Ribs are one of my favourite foods, but I have never been very good at cooking them, until I realised that I could make them in my slow cooker. I am going to give you two recipes here - one full version and one cheats version!
This is the full recipe.
- 1kg pork ribs
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp dark soft brown sugar
- 4 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcester sauce
- 4 tbsp orange juice
Put the ribs into a large saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes. This boils of some of the fat before putting the ribs into the slow cooker.
Meanwhile, put all the other ingredients into a small saucepan and stir until well blended, then bring to the boil. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
Drain the ribs and place them in the slow cooker. Then pour on the sauce and stir to coat. Cook for 6-8 hours and the ribs will be beautiful and tender.
Serve these with a baked potato, or some rice to soak up the sauce.
The cheat's version
OK so this doesn't save a lot of time, but if you are really short of time, just put the ribs into the slow cooker with a jar or bottle of your favourite BBQ sauce. Cook for 6-8 hours and that's it!
I hope you enjoy these delicious ribs as much as my family and I do!
